Thanks for the replys.
So I patched the game to 60 hz, so now runs at normal speed, but it still a 288p game. I compare the 240p to the 288p version and the 240p game does look a bit sharper. Anyway, I’ll just play the patched version on 4x, having my language in exchange of some sharpness loss is worth it (until the OSSC Pro comes out, then I’ll be able to use 5x on pal games for a total of 1440p output, no cropping).
Do you like scanlines??? I can’t play early 3D games without them. Here, I took a photo from that same scene (cell pic, but you can get an idea).
That is the ossx going from 5x, 1600×1200, generic and custom scanlines to a 4k tv.
Hi, that’s the 240P to 480i transition. On n64 Firebranx sets “line2x bob” for 480i, change that to “passthru” (it will still blink for a second, though, this only works without issues on crts).

Sure, it’ll be great if this option is released some time in the near future. But I’ve read somewhere (don’t remember where) that this can’t be done on the ossc for some reason.
Also, if only vertical and horizontal scanlines are enable, it looks is like a net (similar to a gba screen); only by enable “allow upsample 2x” you get a really nice crt effect. This setting is available for 2x 480p, but not for 4x 240p; the output resolution is the same (960p), but “allow upsample 2x” does nothing on 4x 240p (this being the main reason to consider a second OSSC).
So how does the new hybrid and multiplication compare to the scanlines on a pvm/bvm?? or are this options meant to be more like a consumer CRT??
Update:
So today I took all my cable mess apart and checked everything. I found nothing wrong other than a bit of dust. I put everything back together to test it… and tadaaaa!, it’s working again lol.
So what happened yesterday? I have no idea, I’m just happy it’s working again. I am a bit worry that this will became a recurrent situation, but for now I can relax.
Regards
