Joey Jr Cartridge Flasher

Joey Junior is a cartridge reader/writer for Nintendo Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance cartridges. It allows you to back up your save files, read and in some cases write to real Gameboy cartridges, all from the comfort of your PC via USB (unfortunately Macintosh/OSX is not supported – The hidden files MacOS writes to USB devices can corrupt save files).

The device opens up several possibilities for fans of these classic hand held consoles, you can now do all the following and more:-

• Back up and preserve your save games, before that cartridge battery dies!
• Write save files back to cartridges. Swap the battery for a new one without worrying about losing your saves
• Play your Gameboy cartridge collection on an emulator 100% legally*, no need to visit dodgy sites for “ROMZ”. Run the game directly from the cartridge
• GB camera image dumping! All your images are conveniently presented as bitmap files to your PC, tablet, phone etc.
• Firmware updates over USB C – just drag and drop the new firmware
• V2++ edition, even faster read/write speeds than before!

A USB-C cable is required but not included. These can be purchased from most electronics stores, or simply use any Xbox, Switch or PS5 controller cable.

Joey Jr needs no software or drivers. It works much like an external hard drive. You can drag and drop your ROM and save off, or on. You can play your games directly in an emulator and saves will be automatically updated on the cart when you’re done, easy and seamless!
