JoeyN64 Cartridge Flasher

JoeyN64 is a cartridge and memory pack reader/writer for Nintendo 64 cartridges. It allows you to back up your N64 save files, read, and in some cases write to real Nintendo 64 cartridges, all from the comfort of your PC via USB (unfortunately Macintosh/OSX is not supported – The hidden files MacOS writes to USB devices can corrupt save files).

The device opens up many possibilities for fans of the famous console, you can now do the following:-

• Back up and preserve your save games, before that cartridge battery dies
• Write save files back to cartridges. Swap the battery for a new one without worrying about losing your saves
• Play your N64 collection on your emulator 100% legally*, no need to visit dodgy sites for “ROMZ”. Run the game directly from the cartridge
• Detect if a cartridge is fake or genuine, great for collectors
• Can connect to an Android smartphone for easy cartridge identification and checking when you’re out hunting for games
• Supports N64 and Z64 ROMs, can automatically byteswap (Write in mode.txt which file format you prefer)
• Firmware updates over USB C – just drag and drop the new firmware

NOTE: Official N64 Dev Carts NOT supported without external 12volt supply modification. A USB-C cable is required but not included. These can be purchased from  most electronics stores, or simply use any Xbox, Switch or PS5 controller cable.

JoeyN64 needs no software or drivers. It works much like an external hard drive. You can drag and drop your ROM and save off, or on. You can play your games directly in an emulator and saves will be automatically updated on the cart when you’re done, easy and seamless!
