Now your OSSC Pro can accept S-Video and composite video with this new expansion card! This add-on card will allow you to connect both composite video and S-Video directly to your OSSC Pro, allowing for many more older systems to be connected to the device without expensive and often invasive RGB mods.
This expansion card connects directly to the expansion port at the side of the OSSC Pro and provides 1 x composite video and 1 x S-Video input. Both inputs can be connected simultaneously without any adverse effects. To select an external input, press the EXT button on the remote (number 8) or open the Input Select menu and choose one of the inputs labelled “EXP_”.
Users requiring an RF connection for older computers and consoles can optionally purchase the RF enabled version of the card. Note that the RF input on the card is a female coax screw terminal and an adapter may be required depending on your region.
PAL, NTSC and PAL60 formats are supported, allowing for an easy way to use imported vintage electronic systems. Please note for best results you should use the card with an uprated RF cable where possible. We recommend an RG6 Coaxial Cable (such as the one sold here) in whatever length you need. If you use the old RF cables that came with your console, expect to see some extra noise on top of what’s inherently present in the RF signal. Even if the old RF cable works just fine with your old CRT, using an uprated cable with the OSSC Pro will give a significantly better result.
Support for composite and S-Video has been the most requested hardware feature since OSSC Pro launched, so this expansion card should prove extremely useful to many OSSC Pro owners!
All cables and connectors sold separately, please use the shortest cable that is convenient for your setup.
