Upgrade your SNES or Super Famicom console to digital audio (TOSLink/SPDIF) using a new version of this board created by FirebrandX, based on the design originally conceived by Borti4938. With digital audio you will eliminate forever that annoying background audio buzz/hum that even the best quality SCART cables still produce.
FirebrandX has brought a number of improvements to this already fantastic mod. You can now choose between a Coaxial “RCA” style jack or an optical “TOSLINK” jack. You can even fit both options and use them at the same time if you desire.
Furthermore, if you opt for coaxial/RCA audio output, you can install the mod in the place of the RF modulator, meaning no cutting of the SNES’ outer case at all.
Each kit contains the following components.
1. Main mod board with components installed.
2. Either a coaxial “RCA” style jack with plastic washers and securing nut or an optical “TOSLINK” connector (not pre-installed on the board), or both components if desired.
3. One foot of shielded rainbow 26 AWG 10-line conductor wire.

Please note ā Unfortunately the SNES does not output a standard optical audio signal and some amplifiers/digital audio converters may not be compatible. The only way to know if your equipment is compatible is to test it. As weāre only a small company please understand that we cannot offer refunds on fitted components if your amp/home theatre system turns out to be incompatible.
