Thanks; might be game-specific… a number that I’ve tried don’t boot with the RGC component cable set to 576i at boot.
Are PAL Dreamcasts capable of activating the 240p mode of the small selection of games that support it, or is that a NTSC-only thing? Also, do I have to boot in a certain resolution mode before attempting to activate 240p mode? I’ve got a SCART cable capable of switching between 576i/480p (but I’m not sure what it would need to be set to initially before attempting to activate 240p).

March 31, 2020 at 12:57 PM in reply to: 480i OSSC passthrough to an Extron 580i via HDMI>VGA adapter? #36672No; I meant PS2 (through the OSSC). So PS2-via-SCART>OSSC>HDMI-to-VGA-adapter>Extron>CRT TV.
Not sure that’s the case; the OSSC would display something higher than 525p otherwise (and when I select x2 as an option it says it isn’t supported).
If you had to bring one console into a TV showroom floor to test OSSC compatibility, it’d be the SNES, right (due to the jittering issues)?
@Steo is the MU6100 basically the same as the MU6400? When they differ in the hundreds regarding product code, is that just regional variance or reflective of a bigger difference?
Thanks for the reply @Steo. What website are people discussing it on? I’m still collating info on sets; haven’t taken the plunge yet.
@Steo What info did you find out about when comparing the two? Was just looking at the NU7120 and it’s a few hundred pounds more than the MU6120. In what ways is last year’s model better?
I’ve tried to search online and through this thread; has anyone tried the OSSC with a Samsung UE43M5520?
Hi. Could you post any/all settings you’re using with your VP50Pro/OSSC combo? I’ve got them myself but have yet to get anything above x2 working (although I haven’t tried too hard).
Does the VP50Pro manage to cover for the OSSC’s deficiencies with interlaced content any? I remember reading an old review for the unit that suggested it cleaned up old Sky interlaced broadcasts very well.
Is it recommended sticking to the custom timings mentioned here when running through the VP50Pro? http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=Optimal_timings
Also @BuckoA51, do you typically run all your consoles through the VP50Pro in x4 mode (480p aside)?
Do you need to tweak OSSC timing/settings when switching between doubling modes when hooked up to a VP50Pro?
Yes; v1.05 on the VP50Pro, latest OSSC firmware too (from a few weeks ago). When I switch to x3 from x2 it goes blank.
Updated the firmware now, and it has had a positive impact on image quality alright. However, x3 doesn’t seem to work; are there timing settings or similar I need to modify on the OSSC to get it to work?
x2 works out-the-box. Haven’t tried x4 yet.
