Don’t know if it’s any help – but in my case, on the game capture HD software on the elgato, I had to untick a stretch option on the devices configuration.

Ok – replying to my own post here 🙂

Got the OSSC – thanks for the fast service btw.
Seems to work fine for SAM Coupe -> HDMI conversion – tried both x2 and x5 options. x5 gave better quality – but….

Anyway – Elgato HD60S – I got one in the end after hearing some results from another SAM + OSSC user … initially it didn’t work after trying it with x1,2,3,4 and 5.

Then based on input from another user – it seemed he’d had some issues after using x5 – that switching to x2 didn’t work correctly without resetting.

I reset the OSSC – selected x2 – plugged it back into the Elgato – and the SAM video captured fine immediately.
Only issue on the OSSC software is to remember to turn off wide mode.

So – x5 was better for watching directly – but x2 captured at the same quality (although showed lower quality on Elgato output for preview).

A headache to work out – but it worked in the end 🙂

        Thanks!

I’m a SAM Coupe owner – who is ordering an OSSC shortly. Based on compatibility I’ve heard from other users, it does look like this will work without any issues – so looking forward to placing my order.

Only problem is that I would like to grab the odd project i’m working on – at reasonable quality. I’ve no idea on the best solution though.

I’ve heard of some reasonable feedback regarding the Elgato HD60S – which seems to do a reasonably good job with SAM’s “text mode” – Mode 3 (512 x 192 pixels, 4 colours, pixel colour) and mixed – but not always ideal – results with Mode 4 (256 x 192 – 16 colours, pixel colour).

Doubt there’s many SAM owners here – but if so, any feedback from others – or for machines of a similar level?

I’ve been advised that SAM’s output is:
          non-interlaced PAL, 50.02Hz, 312 lines

          Any feedback would be appreciated.

          Thanks!
