Just so you guys know, FireBrandX does have PS1 settings. Go to his website and click on “OSSC json Profiles February 20th, 2020” and it should download a zip with all of his current presets. They’re json files you can load into his editor to flash a Micro SD to import to your OSSC as a profile.
August 6, 2020 at 2:16 AM in reply to: Go-to games/pause screens for fine tuning OSSC settings #40368I usually use the 240p test suite depending on the system. Each system has it’s own way to do get it. Just google “240p test suite” and click on the first result. I’d post the link here, but it keeps getting flagged for spam.
August 5, 2020 at 7:25 AM in reply to: VGA Sync lost with one of my VGA monitors, but not the other. #40337Well, I got a new adapter, complete trash though. Had high ratings but I couldn’t even get a picture on either of the VGAs. So I went back to my old adapter I was using. I found a VGA cable extender and then used that and then all of a sudden no signal drops for like an hour. Then I thought, ok cool. I can swap it out. So I swap out the monitors. Get everything hooked back up and low and behold, it’s dropping the signal again every 30 seconds or so. I’m baffled. I dunno if the vga connector is just touchy or bad and its gotta be in some weird position or something but yeah. Still fighting it. I dunno what else to do.
August 3, 2020 at 7:09 PM in reply to: VGA Sync lost with one of my VGA monitors, but not the other. #40284It actually doesn’t have an additional power supply. It’s strange that one works and the other doesn’t. But then again they’re two different makes and models so maybe the new one needs more power? I went ahead and ordered a new adapter with additional power via USB so I’m hoping that’s the issue. It would be an easier problem to solve if I had a VGA capable PC or something but sadly I don’t.
EDIT: Ok, so I restarted my PC and now everything is working fine? Sound and video are stable and it’s been sitting there for 20 minutes just to keep an eye on any issues. Strange.
Yeah after posting this thread I had researched a little more and found that to be the culprit. I found a nice service on Ebay to send my SNES off to get the de-jitter board installed and whatnot since I have no soldering experience. Fair play.
EDIT 2: Figured out the audio, instead of connecting the red and white component audio that’s connected to the end you’d plug into the OSSC, you just plug in the white and red from the composite cable. I should probably not make posts like this till I completely troubleshoot yeah? lol.
EDIT: Ok, so I’m not sure if this is a for sure reason, but I plugged the the Koryuu back into the OSSC and booted everything on in the following order. OSSC>Changed to AV2 input (YPbPr)>Koryuu>then the console and now I see it. Now the problem is routing the audio. How does one do that with the Koryuu?
Also, I’d like to note that after taking the OSSC out of the equation, it works perfectly fine hooked up to my actual TV via component, minus no sound, which I’m not sure how you workaround. So there has to be some messed up setting on the OSSC.
May 14, 2020 at 12:28 AM in reply to: Sega Genesis (Model 1) Sync on OSSC but Black Screen Output. #37811EDIT: Ok that’s weird, Plugged it back in after checking the internals for issues, plugged all the cables back in and then booted on and then it worked?
I already have upsample 2x turned on. I know that the Wii has blurry output in general, but I’ve gotten it to look good anyways. I’m just reading everywhere to make sure to adjust the sampling phase so that’s why I inquired.
