You’re a bit finicky but you’re right 😀
It is a workaround, but in my opinion really worth sharing.
This issue stopped me from playing this game for almost three years. The UltraHDMI doesn’t like those resolution switches. According to the posts on assemblergames, there are plenty of artefacts when the resolution switches.
So either
1) Use a CRT
2) Use your flatscreen internal upscaler
3) Get an OSSC and a cheating deviceI am back with a solution. You’ll have to unplug your n64 expansion pak or use a cheat device like I did.
All informations are posted here
https://assemblergames.com/threads/n64-resident-evil-2-disable-expansion-pack.70939/Gameshark code :
So I did EVEN MORE digging, and it turns out that there is a GameShark code that disables the Expansion Pack!
EE000000 0000
I did some more testing.
It happens with every console through RGB or component (for the ps2).
However, the issue is solved when I connect my consoles directly to an older flat tv with scart input.I currently have a neon tube lamp in this room
Do you mean something like that?
I am french and the electrical stuff does not translate very well if you’re not familiar with the subject.
Quick update on that.
I tried tu run the OSSC with an external power source (usb cable from my laptop on battery) and the issue still occurs.
I tried to hook it up on another TV, same issue.
I tried to hook my setup on another power strip, same issue. As I said earlier, I lived in a brand new grounded building and the issue also occurred.
I do not know where it comes fromFirst of all thank you for your reply.
Passthrough 480i does not have the bobbing effect but the capture is really messed up.I spent 2 hours trying to fix it, but nothing works.
According to this post,
passthrough should work when setting TX mode to HDMI but then my capture device just crashes( same capture device, same drivers)Applying the deinterlacing with the software just messes up the image a bit more. It does not work.
Hello everyone.
The bob deinterlacing is fine on my monitor BENQ RL2755HM.
However, when I record on my game capture device (Startech USB3HDCAP) the picture jumps up and down a bit.
You notice it when there is some text and I know it is related to the bob deinterlacing method. So here comes my question : Will some of the solutions above fix my problem without adding lag ? (I am very lag sensitive)
– HD Box pro (for the PS2)
– GC Video Plug n Play (for the gamecube) https://zzblogs.wixsite.com/home
– GCHD from Eon gaming (for the gamecube) https://eongchd.wixsite.com/gchd-by-eonIs there another solution or will I just have to get used to it?
Thank you. Have a nice day.
I only found one review and indeed, it was poorly rated.
Do you mean that I can put the 3.5 mm jack OSSC output into the microphone slot of my laptop and record the audio this way ?
Well so I do not have to care about DVI any more…So which capture device do you suggest for a RGB modded N64 ?
Thank you for your answer. I also own a N64 NUS-FRA RGB one so the Elgato Cam Link is not an option.
I asked “My life in gaming” on facebook and they gave me those products as a viable solution.
StarTech.com USB 3.0 HDMI
Magewell-USB-Capture-DVI-Plus
and also the Epiphan brand but I did not find a device which also captures audio.I do own a board with analogue audio output so Hdmi capture cards with no analogue audio is not a solution.
However, I found something interesting, the DVI + analogue audio to HDMI converters. Do those devices add lag ? Do I have to use a dvi + audio splitter to record ?

http://www.ambery.com/dvihdauenhdr.htmlHello. I would like to record my game footage in 60fps.
I own a OSSC but in my version, the audio does not output through the hdmi.
So it would require a capture card with an audio input, right?
Which one do you recommend ?
Have a nice day and thank you for everything.Thank you for your time.
I currently hooked everything on this https://www.pearl.fr/article/PE4458/bloc-multiprise-multimedia
The light switch is at the opposite of the same room. How can I hook up a 4.5v battery to the OSSC?
Can you link me some noise filters? I live in France and don’t really know what this is.Have a nice day
I lived in a brand new building before acquiring my house.
I remember that I also lost sync randomly and suspected my neighbours to turn something on or off when I was playing.
The flat was grounded for sure.So it must be either the power supply or the power strip. Right?
I already called an electrician, he changed all my electrical switchboard with ultra low tolerance one.
Therefore, the house is not grounded (only the switchboard).
With that new switchboard, the house doesn’t have to be grounded according to the law in France.I do not have disturb on my other electrical devices, only the OSSC.
I may have a clue at 1:50 in this video.
But I want to be sure before buying anything.
Additional informations are welcome. -
