A simple inline volume control suitable for any 3.5mm audio input or output, as found on the Morph, OSSC Pro and OSSC Classic. The control is integrated into a 3.5mm male to female cable approximately 20cm long.
This cable can be particularly useful for Morph 4K owners. The current revision of Morph 4K Analogue Bridge is sensitive to audio that has been driven/boosted too high. Normally, this isn’t a problem as most sources output audio well within specifications. However in a few rare instances, such as some games on the Nintendo 64, or modded consoles that have had their audio levels artificially boosted, a distortion/cracking nose can be heard. Adding this volume control between your audio source and your Morph will cure this problem. Note that this fix is not required if you use a video switch with its own volume control or attenuation, such as an Extron Crosspoint.
While we have not tested this cable with RetroTINK products, we believe it should fix the same problem that was present on earlier RetroTINK units too.
Does NOT work to fix audio issues with the GamesCare switches, a hardware modification is required to address that problem.
