OSSC Upgrade Service

Available now (handled by our partners BetaGamma Computing in Greece). Please allow for shipping and processing delays due to bad weather in Corfu. UK customers MUST e-mail us first about ANY upgrade/repair work (except NI).

All repair/upgrade work is carried out subject to our terms and conditions. Once you have placed your order, details of where to ship your hardware will be sent to your e-mail address. Prices do NOT include return postage.

Upgrade your OSSC hardware revision 1.7 or earlier to support the new 1.x firmware branch. This upgrade is required for older OSSCs in order to access new features such as:-

• Improved sync handling – Sync dropouts with sources such as PC and arcade hardware should be vastly reduced thanks to this new hardware revision
• HDR mode – Turn on your TVs HDR mode for improved brightness. Note that turning on HDR mode will affect colour and gamma accuracy and may require recalibration
• 6X output mode – Convert 240p to 1440p (with pixel repetition). A Compatible TV/monitor is required
• Shadow mask emulation/post processing filters – Mimic the look of a classic CRT even more closely. Works best at high multiplication modes (5x or 6x)

Please note – We only upgrade OSSCs as sold by this website OR classicgamestore.ch, and we will require your original order number as proof.

Want to do this upgrade yourself, or have a local electrical engineer carry out the work? Instructions on how to perform the mod can be found here.
