S-Video to RGB is what you want.
BTW, OSSC doesn’t accept composite video.
Thanks Bucko.
Another question – is the 4x output resolution 960p within a 1080p frame (i.e. with black bars on the top and bottom)? If it’s not, is this possible with a future update?
If it’s outputting 960p then I think I’ll use 5x at 1080p and deal with the cropped picture.
Has anyone got x4 working on the VP series?
Reading the manuals, it looks like 960p is not a supported input resolution (but I’d be happy to be proven wrong!).
Just bought a brand new (new old stock) VP20 that I found on ebay. The reason for purchase is that my Sony projector only works with x2 and the scanlines don’t look too great. Are there any settings I need to take care of before I attempt using it with the OSSC? For example, do I need to use the 1080p passthrough mode?
Will report back in a few weeks when I’m able to test. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Agreed with paulb_nl, if you look closely it seems the dithering is present when hooked directly to the TV, to OSSC just reveals this.
Sony VPL-HW45ES Projector:
240pX3/X4/X5: No
NES/SNES 240p: Unable to test
Dell U2711 Monitor:
240pX3/X4/X5: Yes, and with all X5 modes – note: requires DVI input for resolutions above 1080p. I’m using a HDMI to DVI cable with great results.
NES/SNES 240p: Unable to test
Which component are you having difficulty sourcing?
It’s not the video ADC is it?
Will there be a future batch of v1.6, or a future version revision? Or is this the end of the road?
If there’s not going to be more units due to end of life on components etc, I’ll order more.
