I know this is not a TV, but I grabbed a ULMB monitor that was on sale. It’s an AW2518HF 240Hz monitor.
I decided to try the OSSC on it and every mode works apart from PAL Lx4, though it does work with the tweak I talked about and it can force 4:3.
It actually has an option for 1:1 in the aspect ratio to get pixel perfect scaling if you’d prefer that over enlarging the image. I actually think that’s something really good that I wasn’t expecting, so I’m happy with that.
It’s probably not the best value for someone that just wants a monitor that works, but I’m only mentioning it becase I think the 1:1 scaling option it really nice. I’m sure there are some much cheaper 60Hz monitors out there that should be able to do the same thing assuming you don’t want a really high refresh rate one for your PC.
December 8, 2018 at 10:38 PM #24268Hello, I’m looking to replace my old philips 43″ led tv, As it dosent support all the modes espicialy when hooking arcade pcbs (neo geo mvs, taito f3…). I want a 50″-55″ budget 4k tv.
Does anyone has experince with LG 55UK6700Y? How its input lag? Does it should work ok with arcade pcbs and other consoles?
ThanksDecember 8, 2018 at 11:31 PM #24269Hello, I think I have exactly what you need !
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uj6300
Input lag between 11 and 20ms !
Compatible HDR10 @60fps
True 4K
Really good compatibility with OSSC
Cheap !I think the TV is average and has 2 or 3 strong points (listed above) but turns out that those strong points are really good for gamers IMO. Don’t expect much, but if you don’t have a lot of money to spend, I think this TV will make you think that you got more than for what you paid for. That’s how I feel. I’m really happy with my cheap tv. Bought it £430 a year ago.
December 8, 2018 at 11:50 PM #24270Thanks @BlueStinger, does this review apllied for the model i’m intersting in? My main concern is ossc compatibility with arcade pcbs.
December 10, 2018 at 11:46 PM #24312Heya – I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with OSSC and the Sony KD50X690E tv or any of the similar 4k led sony tvs.
December 31, 2018 at 3:22 AM #24538VESTEL TV’s seem to have very good compatibility. I got my old Toshiba 40L1333DB TV back from my friend and literally every single mode works. Passthrough to 5x including SNES with both 50Hz and 60Hz. I even tried the Dreamcast and line doubled 480p to 960p, it looks really sharp. It accepted every single mode I threw at it, no matter how off spec the resolution was. It can display very non standard resolutions and the TV even reports the exact resolution correctly. Even some PC monitors have less compatibility than this TV seems to have.
January 11, 2019 at 3:43 AM #24698I managed to get the LG B8S. I’ve wanted an OLED TV for so long and finally it’s become a reality. ?
As of yet, I’ve just tested an NTSC PS1 game and I could get 5x on it. I’ll do some further tests with some 576/480 consoles this week and see if they will line double properly.
UPDATE: Passthrough, Lx2, Lx3, Lx4 and Lx5 all work on the LG OLED B8S. SNES also works, but for me it was having slight issues with dropping out on 60Hz Lx5, though I have yet to mess around with the sync settings. I tried the both Dreamcast (with Toro) and Xbox, both can line double to 960p with no issues.
February 1, 2019 at 1:24 AM #25049Hello, I just signed up to the forums, as I’m working towards taking the dive into using the OSSC for most of my retro gaming.
Problem is, I’m having trouble finding the best display that’ll suit my needs. I’ve considered two different TVs so far, the TCL 55-Inch 55s405, and the LG 55-Inch OLED55C8P. Both seem like valid options, but I don’t know which one to pick or which one will give me the fewest problems/issues hooked up to an OSSC.
So, if it’s OK to ask, if anyone on this forum has had experience with either of these TVs, please let me know, I’d very much like to ask you about your experience with them used alongside an OSSC. It’d be much appreciated.
February 1, 2019 at 1:39 AM #25050I can’t speak for TCL personally as I’ve never used one, but I’ve heard they have great compatibility. Since I have an LG B8 and you’re looking at the C8, I can tell you that my B8 works with absolutely everything with no issues. If the B8 works that well, then the C8 will, considering that almost all LG sets are highly compatible and both the B7 & C7 worked.
February 1, 2019 at 1:47 AM #25051In that case, I’ll probably go for the LG TV. Sure the TCL would save me quite a bit of cash and is labeled as great in compatibility, but if the LG is compatible with pretty much everything at a higher price point, plus that OlED goodness lol. Anyway Thank you for your advice @Steo 🙂
February 1, 2019 at 1:51 AM #25052It all depends on whether you want to save some money and have a TV that works or go for the best picture quality. I wanted an OLED for ages and I couldn’t help but get one, I don’t regret that purchase one bit. 🙂
February 2, 2019 at 5:59 AM #25056Does anyone know if the TCL 40S325 or any line from the S325 work with all modes? Thanks for any info in advanced.

I had a 4-series TCL but it got poor results with compatibility. SNES was unplayable. PS2 (playing a PS1 game) had occasional dropouts that may have been possible to eliminate with some settings tinkering, but no luck. N64 worked fine, if I recall correctly. However, 3x and 4x looked like trash on this TV. It made everything much darker and just added a bunch of extra noise everywhere. I was never able to make it look good.
I assume the 3-series models aren’t much better, but I did have an older TCL from 2011 that managed to work pretty well in line triple mode.
I now have a 6-series TCL, and it works beautifully with everything I’ve used on it (Genesis, SNES, N64, PS2, all capability of x3 and x4 just fine).
February 2, 2019 at 4:05 PM #25060Damn that sucks, was looking for a TV around $200 and TCL was praised highly for the compatibility but it seems like It’s just the 4K series of the tvs. Thanks for the help!
