I also decided to go HD Retrovision component cables for all my consoles. Already preordered them, but saw they got delayed (guessing because of the coronavirus) until June. Will be August if you ordered/order after March 17th. From everything I’ve read (and I’ve watched youtube videos of them), there is pretty much no difference. Component definitely is more convenient if you live in the US. I’m going to use them on my CRT (with component port) and also the OSSC.

Sounds good, Bucko. Yeah, definitely try it out and see what the results are when you get your test unit.

My current tv (LG) handles the signal well for NES/SNES (NTSC), but my Sony X900E did not.

I’ve also wondered with tv’s now getting VRR, GSync and FreeSync if that will somehow improve compatibility for the sets that have those features.

Excellent! So NES and SNES without dejitter in adaptive mode should also be compatible with most displays now? Is that correct?

Just found out about the Pro. Pretty dang excited. So this means for SNES/NES the dejitter feature will no longer be needed as the Pro will handle all that now? And that means you can pretty much buy any brand tv (or at least the big names) and won’t have the compatibility issues? Is this is all correct? If so, then I’m making a switch back to Sony due to the nice upscaling.

I think you’d probably find it affects all games it’s just chance you’ve only noticed it on that one.

A de-jitter board may cure the issue.

Yep, it did it in Super Mario World at least 3 times as well. I also had an issue when I turned on the SNES and it wouldn’t show a picture, but the OSSC was picking up the signal. I switched from 4x mode to 5x mode and it worked, then back to 4x mode and it also started working again. All of this was within a span of a few seconds. So maybe it is the quirky SNES signal afterall. The dejitter board will more than likely solve this? It still doesn’t do it that much, but I do want to get it fixed. I’m able to play the game mostly without it not interrupting much. I’ll probably get this dejitter board done if it will more than likely fix the problem.

Does the OSSC lose sync or only the TV?

It seems to only be the tv. OSSC looks like it’s holding the signal. It’ll flash a black screen for a second then return back to normal.

Gotcha! I’m going to contact the modder and see what he can do for me. I don’t even know if he has even started on it.

I just ordered the OSSC! Pretty excited to finally try it out after hearing all the great reviews and being better than the Framemeister. I just hope it and my tv have a happy marriage :p

Yeah, I guess it won’t hurt to try. It may already be fixed. Those posts are over a year old. I definitely want to just be able to hook it up all to the OSSC. The main consoles I will be using are Dreamcast (VGA) via Toro Box, Genesis, NES (haven’t gotten it RGB modded yet, but once I do, I want to hook it up), SNES, PS1 and possibly Gamecube. I’ll break out the PS2 from time to time if I’m in the mood, but it won’t be a main console.

Should these 3.5mm RCA cables work with the OSSC to get audio from the Dreamcast Toro Box? https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-3-5mm-2-Male-Adapter-Cable/dp/B01D5H8KO2/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=209NUZA3JZLC0&keywords=3.5mm+to+rca&qid=1556475755&s=electronics&sprefix=3.5mm%2Celectronics%2C162&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1

Also, this micro sd card I have for the firmware if it happens to be running old firmware? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZIEMWU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A35BKAA6VXTYCT&psc=1

I’m getting very close to ordering the OSSC. Just want to make sure I’m getting everything that’s needed first 🙂

                    Great!

Yeah, the SNES is going to be a huge part of my set up. I just ordered an RGB SNES Jr. with S-Video a few weeks ago using the 7374 AMP. I haven’t received it yet though. I ordered it from Retro Fixes: https://store.retrofixes.com/collections/restored-consoles/products/snes-jr-rgb-console

I’m not sure if it comes with that mod on board or not.

One thing I do have is a Framemeister I’ve been using for about a year so I guess I can always use that to play SNES games if it doesn’t work.

I’m looking at getting an OSSC, but I see my tv on this list with some compatibility issues. But the last posts on here are from October 2017 and January 2018. I own the Sony 4K 49″ X900E. Does anybody know if these issues have been fixed since then? It mostly looks like it’s SNES at least from the OP. Anybody on here currently that owns the X900E with an OSSC that can give me some more details?

Also, abut the power supply with the OSSC. Does it use a wall hog power supply? And if so, will it be okay to use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0153T1J8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
