Hi! I have a similar issue on my 3 year old unit. I didn’t have a power outage, but I’m suddenly not getting any video out. Just curious if you were able to problem solve this at all? Thanks!

Good suggestions everyone. Thanks! It looks like you can get testsuites on ps1 and ps2, but you need modded consoles to read a burned cd/dvd. Something my current setup is not capable of. So I’ll take the game suggestions and try those. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I’ve seen this for SNES before. My understanding is I need to buy this pre-loaded on a cartridge or disc? Or learn to set it up myself? I see all the source code is open and free. But I am not really setup to make my own discs or carts that run through homebrew. Except for Gamecube.

I was hoping there were users who might have some go-to existing games that i might already have in my library to use. I fully realize it wont be as good/accurate. But these might be more accessible for OSSC users in my situation. I guess if everyone just uses these testsuites I’ll need to research it more in detail and make the purchase or figure out how to get it working a la homebrew on all my systems.

          Thanks!

Its good to hear it works with basic settings. That’s what I was looking for. I’ll be ordering one now.
I’ll cross my fingers if I can get the 2x, 3x, 4x working with OSSC. Thanks!

I didn’t know the cable had its own scaling options. When I get it hooked up, if I think to, I’ll post an image comparing Carby component scaling and OSSC scaling.

Sorry to hear your TV doesn’t like the OSSC. What TV are you using? I’m not sure how much you’ve played around with the OSSC settings. I barely understand them myself since I set my stuff up 2 years ago and refuse to touch them again since getting things working well.

I do know I used this exact thread here and played with settings for hours until I got my NES, SNES, N64, Ps1, and ps2 working well with 2x. Some of them I was able to get 4x working.

Anyways, not sure what you’ve tried. If this helps, Great!

I’ve replicated the problem in detail.

              Panasonic TC-P55S60 Plasma TV
HDMI in through a 4port switch
              Ps2 Component into OSSC

Here is what I’ve been doing.

Line4X generic. After adjusting V.Active to 256 and V.backporch to 3. I get a picture. From here I am looking to now make minor adjustments to image ratio through Horizontal pixel size. Here are the current defaults.

              H.active is 1280
              H.backporch is 170
              H.samplerate is 1560

I’m following this link and doing calculations. Horizontal Multiplication factors at bottom of page says to multiply by 3.

              http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=Optimal_timings

              H.active is 1152
              H.backporch is 198
              H.samplerate is 1512

After these changes I have a nice image.
I save the profile. Loading profile or rebooting system shows no image.

In the settings all those numbers are still there. Now if I start changing them back to default. The image appears again.
For now I will avoid adjusting the H.’s and just enjoy the crisp pixels even if the ratio is off a bit.

              Thanks!

                Thanks for the quick reply.

Yep, numbers are saved. To clarify, when I go in to tweak settings thinking the profile load didn’t work. The numbers are all there and set at my previous settings that I had a great image at before reboot.
