      HAHAHAHA. You’ll not believe this.

I was recently lent a HTC Vive by a friend, and one of the basestations is directly opposite the OSSC. I turned it off and the remote is now working again.

So there you go – if you have a VR headset with tracking that relies on basestations, turn them off if you want to use your OSSC.

        Woah, that would do it.

I guess I’ve got a new soldering project when I find the time. Thanks.

Whoops, I should have mentioned that… Yes, this is the only console I’ve had problems with.

edit: Just tested it using a cheap SCART to HDMI adapter I had kicking around. It looks fine through that… This is definitely a issue between the SCART cable and the OSSC. Also, by SCART cable I don’t mean composite cables plugged into a SCART block. This is supposedly an RGB SCART cable.

Where did you get the SCART cable from, and what model of Spectrum is it?

I’m working on assumptions here but I have a grey +2 which works fine, but it’s had some work done on it to correct a common hardware fault on that model.

Now that fault doesn’t cause just a black screen normally, but if it’s repaired and you don’t have one of the SCART cables from Retro Computer Shack or one from Cool Novelties from the last 6 months or so you’ll get… a black screen. If you can solder it’s actually pretty easy to modify any Spectrum SCART cable by opening it up and swapping around pins 16 and 20.

              Hello,

I’ve had a look through the thread and couldn’t see my capture device listed:

              Avermedia LGP Lite

Well, I’d like to confirm the OSSC is compatible with this device. The included software doesn’t seem to like it at all and says there’s no signal, but I’ve been using OBS Studio which recognises it just fine. The only problem is, it works in 2x just fine, but anything above that and it refuses to resize the image to fit the screen, resulting in most of the picture being cut off. I don’t know if this can be resolved or not.

The pass-through image works fine for me on all but 5x. Although 5x might just be my monitor not playing ball. I’ve tested so far with a PlayStation 2, a Megadrive (model 2) and Amiga 1200. All via SCART.

Cheers for producing such a wonderful line scaler 🙂
