That’s not true. You need to do a hardware mod on those boards, per this post:
Awesome, thank you that lets me re-check my work vs cables/software/setup.
Quick update: I downgraded to 0.90 and all the problems went away. The Genesis is showing a solid 262p on 0.90 vs a fluctuating 1100p on 1.08.
I’m wondering if I did something wrong during the mod. I did the mod a couple weeks ago and saw the checkerboard image and assumed it was all good, but only now started to play with it with real hardware.
I’m getting some bizarre behavior with sync (and the device reporting strange things like 1100p). I updated firmware to 1.08 and it’s still having the same issues.
Here’s a link to the video, happy to answer more questions: https://youtu.be/3j2LF1fAzjw
I will upload my profile .JSON and .bin when I’m back at my home machine.
Got it. And the new FW won’t reliably migrate settings that were built in 0.xx, correct?
What’s the recommended path for manipulating profiles in the 1.XX world? I inadvertently lost my 0.90 profiles when I updated and want to know if there’s a way to migrate them or if I have to re-do them from scratch. The online tool only appears to go up to version 0.89.
Any USB-based capture card is going to introduce compression, usually 4:2:2. That said, this cheap guy is said to work across all OSSC modes: https://www.amazon.com/PUTELTAL-Capture-Dongle-Recorder-Streaming/dp/B0818M8TW1
The AES just outputs kinda dim. One thing you can do is turn on borders on the OSSC to full white. Then find a screen in a game that is displaying pure white. Use the Pre-ADC gain to get the white from the game in the neighborhood of the border white. If you’re a stickler, then try the R, G, and B Gains to fine-tune it.
Which version of the software are you using for the Crestron?
Out of curiosity, where did you buy the OSSC from?
But the issue is also present if you go to Generic 4:3?
Are you running the standard Generic 4:3?
Have you verified that the same TV input and HDMI cable (plugged into a known-good HDMI source) doesn’t produce the issue?
Are you using Generic 4:3, or one of the advanced modes? If the latter, what settings?
Do you still see this if you go to Settings > Reset settings ( http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=OSSC#Reset_settings )?
Can you be more specific about it looking ugly?
And which settings were you using?
Should advanced settings be different for widescreen vs 4:3?
