Some monitors/TVs accept only the old NTSC standard with fix 59.94 hz instead of “modern” 60 hz… so just fine, you find the issue! Use Component over the AV-Adapter, my advise!
November 6, 2026 at 3:14 AM in reply to: Struggling to get OSSC Pro to display video over component – Downscaling #71180Also could the issue be to do with what signal I am sending to OSSC from my computer? Thanks for the help.
I think, either the OSSC Pro or the AV-Extension are damaged, the settings are the issue …
480p, 720p, 1080p are would take from the device! OSSC Pro also accepts PAL signals… Look at the OSSC Pro Wiki to find the issue himself:
https://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=OSSC_ProIndeed I get picture in Framelock 7x till Framelock 10x with my 100 hz CRT (Sony KV36-FS-70) … strange… and the picture scrolling seems more calm in 100 hz (120 hz) mode with less jitter …I don’t know, but maybe the input lag increase with that function, I don’t know… You unlock the Framelock with that and overtweak maybe the processor, no matter, it’s a nice tweak thought…
1-10x: Refresh rate multiplier. Be aware of above output rate limits as exceeding it results to falling back into highest refresh preset without framelock.[default=1x]
So, when the framelock is too high, the ossc pro unlock your framelock, this is the explanation!

2. I did end up turning frame lock on, but at 1x the image was very jittery, 2+ I lost the image, and at 7 I got a stable image. I currently have it set to 7 (although I truthfully do not truly understand what it means)
Why did it works at Framelock (x7)? Actually it couldn’t be running because at 60 hz you get a fantasy frequency about 420 hz….
Obviously it’s a way for OSSC Pro to set the same HsyncLen and VsyncLen to same amount like the actual HDMI-source!
In my case
720p -> 240p/480i : HsyncLen = 40 , VsyncLen = 5To center the picture, you have to increase the backporch for H and V!

October 31, 2026 at 12:23 PM in reply to: Struggling to get OSSC Pro to display video over component – Downscaling #71094Search for InAkustik YUV-Kabel, I send you here a link from german shop, you find that for your state:

If you get a picture by s-video, maybe something is wrong with the av adapter…
So when I have two ideas:
1. the switches are wrong in av-adapter,
2. the jacks of your yuv-cable are not tight enough in the sockets!LM-A-Mode or Line-Multiplier-Mode is the native mode to transform a source signal to your wished resolution! On your remote you see left of your SCL-button the LM-A button to get it! Before this, you ensure, that the LM-A mode is correct configured, go to LM-A opt. and set for your source resolution the fixed transformed resolution, for example: 720p proc. -> 480i (line-dropping)
If the source is indeed the main problem, change the input-option for your ossc pro from hdmi to vga! Supposed to be your source PC has a vga-option! So you can connect your source with ossc pro via vga to vga!
BTW: do you have set the correct input in ossc pro? For HDMI you have to push the av4 button for example to get the hdmi mode?!
October 30, 2026 at 1:39 AM in reply to: Struggling to get OSSC Pro to display video over component – Downscaling #71080You have to set the switches of your av adapter to “scart_0” and “sw0”!
Use a very short HQ component cable!
The VGA-cable is full of crap… seek for brands like “LINDY”, “StarTech”, “Retro Gaming Cables” or other high quality brands for VGA- and component cables!
Better is an adapter – so i said – called: “gender changer”… a simple vga couple to jack your expansion card with your av adapter directly! (https://www.amazon.de/StarTech-GC9SM-Gender-Changer-zwei-Slimline-DB9-Steckern-Blue-Stainless-steel-Yellow/dp/B00066HJBG/ref=sr_1_2)Make sure, you use in scaler mode the option “CRT” respectively “CRT modes” like 240p and 480i… or try the LM-A-Mode…. You have to put on some TVs second times the AV-button to activate correct AV mode!
I think maybe you have problem with your HDMI interface… either the HDMI Output of your PC is damage or creepy in SD modes… probably your PC has also a VGA voutput, so you can connect to your ossc pro with VGA!
October 29, 2026 at 1:07 PM in reply to: Struggling to get OSSC Pro to display video over component – Downscaling #71070First of all, excellent choice of components in your signal chain, in fact i have the same signal chain to send the signal from PC to my CRT!
If your CRT has scart, use the scart jack of av adapter and set “RGBS” in Expansion opt. dialogue;
If your CRT supports components, use the YUV/YPbPr jacks on the side of av adapter , use “YPbPr” in Expansion opt. dialogue, and here important: put the component cables/jacks in the right order and pull the jacks tight in the YUV-input sockets!
Make sure, that your Jumper (Switches) on your AV adapter are both on SW0, not SW1!
Sometimes, the vga-cable between extension card and av adapter is fully crap…your vga-jack should have all pins and be short… i use instead a so called “gender changer”, a vga couple with 2 vga jacks on their side (remove the screws), so 0% signal lack…
Also make sure, if your tv has a scart option, you use an excellent scart cable like from inakustik, oehlbach, (both german brands), monster, retro gaming cables or something like that!BTW: i had the same problem with my former CRT and the main issue was: that the jacks of the YPbPr/YUV-cable were not completely pull in the input sockets from the av adapter! The same is with scart possible!
August 16, 2026 at 8:08 PM in reply to: When is AV Input/Output Adapter (SCART) for OSSC Pro available? #70466Ok maybe I cannot say that I thinking because my english is only “school english”… (i come from germany!)…
Ok, it supposed to be, that you choose the certain channel with the options, either RGBs or Ypbpr … so it’s would be perfect….because both CRTs can keep plugged and one profile for one CRT with RGBs and one profile for second CRT with Ypbpr … Great work, I will test that!
August 16, 2026 at 4:26 PM in reply to: When is AV Input/Output Adapter (SCART) for OSSC Pro available? #70464I want to connect my two CRTs via this adapter…
The first CRT would be connected by SCART, the second one would be connected by YUV…My question is:
Both are don’t run synchron, i want to use this adapter for only connection and run one of them! Would become the quality worst, when I connect both CRTs at the av adapter? This is a very technical question and i have no idea, how i get the information besides here!
It’s even possible to connect both at the same adapter?August 15, 2026 at 9:06 PM in reply to: When is AV Input/Output Adapter (SCART) for OSSC Pro available? #70455I bought the new av-adapter from VGP for the ossc pro… it’s fantastic… I watch the video and maybe I become sure to buy the right extra device…
Since I had the extra av-extension-card, i switch the switches SW1 to SCART_O and SW2 to SCART_O….
I convert with it the hdmi signal from mini pc to scart signal for CRT!
If you are to the end of the capacities of the scaler mode, you can in 720p in advanced timings in output mode (“overclock”) to H.active and V.active maybe -10 or so (e.g. V.active = 230 works in most of the cases), more the picture is also cropped … i would keep the original timings for the output mode and set the rest via service menue of your crt!
Hello,
I had the same “problem” with my signal chain (mini pc via hdmi -> ossc pro -> panasonic crt [consumer tv] via scart)…
You would can solve it, if you set your pc to 720p in tv norm (in the advanced dialog of windows 11 pro) and use the scaler-mode, which are able to shrunken the picture, when necessary! The 720p signal was noticed by ossc pro and can convert easily to 480p / 480i…. But the scaler-mode is for me the absolut “ultima ratio”, when nothing is possible!
But I use more the A-LM-Mode, scaling is set by the emulator and the service menue of the CRT!For e.g. SNES in 720p you have to set the aspect ratio to the original pixel x 3, in this case: 256*3 and 244*3… so the original picture by the mini pc has no overscan! For other platforms you have a same approach!
Second the ossc pro has to set to LM-A Mode and Line-Dropping to 480p, maybe you have to set the position (porch) to take the picture to the middle of the crt area…
Third you have to adjust possible overscan via the aspect ratio settings of your crt (mostly “aspect”, “full / total”, “zoom” or at the one!) or you use the service menue of your CRT, nearly every CRT company has a service menue access for engineers or technics… in the geometry parameters you can shrunken the picture to the wished area!I have only 1 cm (1/2″) overscan to every side! Be aware when you see trash pixel on the borders of your picture or maybe a blue line on the edge of the crt area, when the signal area is too small!

Hello,
Use a simple SCART-to-VGA Adapter! Because your PS-One has indeed only composite output, you can use for example this:
RetroUpgrades SCART2VGA Adapter (active) or cheeper like e.g. from DeLock, etc. (passive) …
Maybe you need also a RCA-to-SCART Adapter, a simple from DeLock, Hama or so is enough!
Then you can via VGA in your OSSC and its configuration and specification are more convenient… i have thought the technical specification of the PS-One is to special for the OSSC (and maybe also die ossc pro!)…
Good Luck
